Sara Loren Is Ready For Her Second Innings

She is from Pakistan. But now Sara Loren whose sizzling-hot presence in Murder 3 did nothing to the film or to her career, has made Mumbai her home.

The fruits of her adopted residency are evident in her on-release film Barkhaa where Sara plays the author-backed title role .

“It’s the story of an innocent Himachal girl’s journey into Mumbai. My own journey has been pretty rough. After a career in acting in Pakistan I started my career in Bollywood with Pooja Bhatt’s Kajrare. We all know what happened to that film,” sighs the Pakistani beauty who until very recently divided her time between  Dubai and Mumbai.

Kajrare was given a token release . The film died a natural death.

“If Murder 3 had not happened my career in Bollywood would have ended even before it started. But after Murder 3 again, there was huge gap beforeBarkhaa came my way. I am used to taking  all the ups and downs of life in my stride,” says Sara whose  surname Loren doesn’t come from the legendary actress Sophia Loren.

“Loren means victory Italian. And Sara is an angel. My real name MonaLizza was also of Italian origin. But that name confused people.Every time they heard it they thought of the famous painting. So Sara Loren it is,” she laughs.

After Barkhaa which she described as a  career changer Sara will be seen in a film called Ishq Click with Adhyayan Suman. As with his earlier leading ladies Adhyayan is already being linked in a section of the media to Sara Loren.

Sara  laughs off the romantic rumours. “I understand all this link-up and rumours are a part and parcel of the marketing strategy. As long as limits are not crossed I am fine with such publicity. Since I’ve no family inMumbai I tend to get close to the people I work with the people I work with.I got to meet Adhyayan and his family who are nice people. Once the film is done, they will go their way and I  mine.”

At the moment Sara’s focus is on Barkhaa. “I’ve worked really hard on the character. She goes through such a tumultuous journey. Playing a  girl from Himachal Pradesh right after playing the glamorous hottie in Murder 3 was a bit of a cultural shock for me , as it will be for the audience. In another film I am doing Fraud Saiyyan audiences will see me in crumpled cotton sarees, a far cry from the ultra-chic character I played in Murder 3.As an actress I like looking at challenges. There is no point in playing it safe in life. I consider  life a gamble. One might as well play it for high stakes.”

While actors from Pakistan like Ali Zafar and Fawad Khan have made a name in Bollywood, their female counterparts like Zeba Bakhtiar,  Meera,Veena Malik and Humaima Malik have been pretty disastrous in their efforts to capture Bollywood.

Let’s hope Sara Loren breaks the jinx. Source
